‘Public Procurement – A New Way Forward’

What works, what doesn’t? What goals were achieved, where do we still have room for improvement? These are the questions on the minds of public procurement scholars and practitioners, politicians and policy-makers. Some of these questions were answered by the European Court of Auditors, Letta and Draghi reports, but some of them remain unanswered – or at least there is no consensus on what the best possible answer would be. And while the European Commission takes stock and prepares the outlines of the new Public Procurement Directives, our goal is to discuss some of the most important public procurement issues – and offer possible solutions.
The best way to do so is to get together a fantastic list of speakers (don’t take my word for it, ask any other public procurement nerd you know) and hear their perspective on what works, what doesn’t and how to shape the upcoming Directives.
I’m really happy to announce that University of Zagreb Faculty of Law and the Croatian Public Procurement Appeal Body DKOM are organizing this (hopefully the first of many) public procurement conference on November 11 2025 in the beautiful and recently reconstructed Faculty building at Trg Republike Hrvatske 3!
Here’s the program:
